A second probe has been concluded involving the business activities of Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè. She is a bigwig in Premier Giorgia Meloni's rightwing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party.

This second investigation involves suspected false accounting, judicial sources said Friday. It follows the recent conclusion of a probe into suspected aggravated fraud of pension and social security agency INPS for drawing on COVID redundancy funds for staff at her Visibiliagroup while they were in fact allegedly working. She also faces other probes involving Visibilia including alleged money laundering and alleged fraudulent bankruptcy. She has said she will resign if any charges are pressed, and recently survived an opposition no confidence motion. The Italian press is reporting that the second probe was concluded on Friday, and that the investigation into the tourism minister's business activities has been closed. The Italian media are reporting that this is not the first probe into her business activities and that she has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
