Open Studio Days in the Miesbach district have something to do with the topic of courage in one way or another. We visited three studios and talked to the artists - about their work, the creative process and what courage means in art.

Sabine Blaske: “You also have to accept rust on the work of art.” Kerstin Brandes: ‘I mostly paint based on photographic models. What she paints comes about spontaneously.’ Manfred Lenzer: 'The object is no longer irrelevant. What is relevant is the way that the object is only recognizable in such a way that it no longer represents the object’s perspective. The photo is technically a poor Polaroid film to photograph imperfectly, which we know as Italy,’ says Lenzer.. Is art brave? Or is it brave to purchase a particularly eye-catching object and hang it up at home? Many of the artists provide insights into their work spaces as part of the Open Studio Days.
