The Saint-Michel spire in Bordeaux is one of the highest bell towers in the country. Built in the 15th century on an old chapel, the spire has been the subject of a vast renovation project since 2022.

A huge 700-ton “freestanding” scaffolding was installed around the building to allow this historic building to be renovated without damaging its structure. Work estimated at 11.6 million euros, financed mainly by the State, the city and the NouvelleAquitaine.
