The EU imposes new sanctions on Russia on the second anniversary of the Ukraine war on February 24th. Representatives of the 27 member states agreed in Brussels to significantly expand the list of people and entities whose assets in the EU must be frozen.

No more military-use goods and technologies will be allowed to be sold to them from the EU. It had already become known that the USA also wanted to launch an extensive package of sanctions against Russia shortly. The reason is the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
