At least five dead in bus accident on A9 near Leipzig. Clinics are preparing for emergencies.
Several rescue helicopters and numerous ambulances are in use. The highway is closed in both directions. Motorists were asked to keep an emergency lane clear. The A9 is an important north-south highway connecting Berlin and Munich. The coach had an accident on Wednesday morning between the Wiedemar junction and the Schkeuditzer Kreuz. The vehicle fell off the road onto its side for an unknown reason.
