Back to black is a cinematic portrait of one of the greatest musical talents of the last 30 years, the singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse. The film, released on April 18th with Universal, is supported by the powerful interpretation, bordering on mimicry, of Marisa Abela (who also sings all the songs) A viaticum made of dreams fulfilled and broken, absolute passion for music, an early addiction to alcohol and the meeting with the fatal and charming bad boy Blake (Jack O Connell), who gives a decisive push to the singer's downward spiral.

"I wanted to make a film from Amy's perspective, through her eyes. The only place where her truth lies is in the lyrics of her songs," says director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
