Two fires broke out early Saturday afternoon in the towns of Larrau and Licq-Atherey in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, destroying 150 hectares of vegetation. One of the outbreaks, which had broken out on the right side of the Etxelü woods, “is now fixed” after having covered some 50 hectares.

“The high temperature, low humidity and wind gusts of 100 km/h formed an explosive cocktail which started the fires,” point out the firefighters.
