Two lapwings are breeding, three nests have been abandoned and several males are building nest hollows in a new place that is under water because of the beavers. Seefeld's conservationists are happy about the developments that are due to the beaver dammings on the Aubach.

The lapwings also like the new, submerged hollow south of their fenced field. However, breeding is not going so well: three out of five clutches have apparently been abandoned or plundered by predators. It remains to be seen whether breeding will actually take place there. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority has been informed.. An adult bird is currently laying a clutch of eggs in the lapwing field. Theoretically, lapwings can still breed until early summer. The sweaters hatch after 21 to 28 days. Next week it should be that time again on the Kiebitz field on Seefelder's Aubach in the valley between Hechendorf and Seefeld.
