Because of the drought, water will be 42% more expensive in summer in Toulouse! In order to preserve water resources on the Garonne during dry periods, Toulouses Métropole adopted seasonal pricing. Concretely, this involves charging more for water when the resource is low, and less expensive in more favorable periods, in order to save water.
The objective is to encourage the inhabitants of the 36 municipalities to reduce their water consumption. For the elected representatives, this measure, without any change in consumption, will be painless for the wallet.
