Shortly before the operation there is a touching message from the royal family themselves. King HarALD contracted a respiratory infection while vacationing in Malaysia with Queen Sonja. The Norwegian people also showered the 87-year-old with encouraging words and well-wishes. The regent is now receiving professional treatment at the Rikshospitalet in Oslo. In an upcoming operation, the temporary pacemaker will be converted into a permanent one.
