The mayor of Cachan (Val-de-Marne) Hélène de Comarmond (PS) announced this March 8 that eight emblematic places in the city will be named after women. “It’s a very nice initiative,” said the couple.

There are so many banal names, there is no reason not to feminize them, said the mayor. If the plaques have not yet been installed, “they have been ordered”, assures the town hall.
