Deputy Alberto "Bertie" Benegas Lynch questioned this Sunday that schooling is mandatory. He argued that the State cannot decide whether a child goes to school or not.

The representative of La Libertad Avanza proposed that parents decide if children should go to school. "I do not believe in the obligation of education. It is a responsibility of the parents. You want to give your child the best," he said. "How is the State going to decide about the boy? I can't even think of anything more invasive," he added.
