The E-CHO project for the production of hydrogen, e-methanol and e-biokerozene on the former Pyrénées-Atlantiques gas site is contested. Since gas extraction ended there in 2013, the famous Lacq industrial complex, near Pau, in Béarn, has been looking for a future, if possible carbon-free, to create jobs.

But it is a new project, called E- CHO, which worries some residents who are accustomed to polluting industries.
