The custody of eight men linked to a far-right group was lifted Thursday evening in Bordeaux. The investigation into violence during a university conference attended by two LFI deputies continues in preliminary stages.
“Freedom of expression is a fundamental freedom and what happened is unacceptable,” responded Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin. The facts date back to December 7, 2022 when the police had to intervene in clashes between LFI supporters and around twenty demonstrators who were members of a small group identified as far- right.
