The body of a 69-year-old man was spotted by a passer-by in Bordeaux. The victim had personal documents in his pocket which allowed him to be identified.

An investigation has been opened and an autopsy will be carried out to determine the circumstances of the death of this man. The man could have had an accidental fall following illness or decided to end his life. In February, the body of an student, 21, who had disappeared a month earlier, was also recovered from the water basins. The man's identity has not yet been released by the national police services. For the moment, several hypotheses are being considered, including that the man may have fallen and ended his life after a fall or that he may have taken his own life. The body of the student was also found in February, a month after she went missing in Montpellier. The cause of her death has yet to be determined, but police are looking into the possibility that she may have died of natural causes.
