Bosnian writer Abdulah Sidran dies at 79. The poet and screenwriter, who notably worked for Serbian director Emir Kusturica, died in Sarajevo on Saturday March 23, at the age of 79.

Mr. Sidran had suffered serious health problems last year, which led to him no longer making public appearances and only occasionally communicating on social media. “We will remember you forever, for your testimony on the beauty, the soul and the pride of the Bosnian man, on the values that make a man a human being,” the mayor of Sarjevo paid tribute to him.
