Boulder hits Italy highway, landslides and warning of “extreme avalanches”. Rain and strong winds are causing major problems in northern Italy.
Landslides have hit several roads. There is also a warning about ‘extreme avalanche’ danger level 5 (very severe) in Piedmont. In Rome, dust pollution is so high that citizens have been asked not to drive. In Liguria, strong winds and rain cause a yellow weather alert. Three hamlets have been completely isolated since Friday after a landslide.
