Vice President Victoria Villarruel finally agreed this Monday afternoon to accompany with her signature the resolution that provides for rolling back the 30% increase in legislators' allowances. The resolution had already been signed on Friday by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, the libertarian Martín Menem.
The Government is involved in a scandal over the salaries of senior officials after the 48% increases that Miley himself, Villarrruel and the rest of his Cabinet had this month. The President received a salary of $4,068,738.23 in January, while in February it was $6,025,801.32.
