Canceled and delayed flights: Courts overwhelmed by flood of lawsuits against airlines. There were more than 125,000 lawsuits in courts at the locations of Germany's 20 largest airports last year, more than ever before.

Customers usually demand compensation for canceled or delayed flights. The judiciary has reacted and is trying to better handle the “assembly line lawsuits” that law firms and debt collection service providers flood many courts with using modern technology. “Many district courts are groaning under a new wave of passenger cases,” says Federal Managing Director Sven Rebehn.
