The treatment at the Walter Reed Military Hospital was due to bladder problems. Prostate cancer was discovered in December in 70-year-old Austin. Austin only passed the information on to the White House on January 4th, and he informed Congress a day later. Joe Biden acknowledged a lack of communication in Austin because of the silence about his health problems, but emphasized that he wanted to stick with the minister.
