Cannes: the municipality will triple the prices of the school canteen in the event of unjustified absences. The objective is to fight against waste of food and public money.
Strongly contested among parents, this measure will take effect upon return from winter vacation. From March 11, upon returning from the winter holidays, meals in the canteens of elementary schools in Cannes could cost parents much more. After five unjustifiedAbsences, they will have to pay for the lunch menu at cost: 9.45 euros compared to 3.60 euros in normal times.
