Maratea is among the ten finalists in the race for the title of Italian Capital of Culture 2026. The Lucanian town has organized a tour to present the candidacy which, after Milan on 5 February, today stops at the Ara Pacis in Rome and will end in Potenza on Thursday 29 February.
The Ministry of Culture will make a decision on the candidacy in March. Maratea expresses with its 30-century history an unparalleled experience of hospitality, says mayor Daniele Stoppelli.
