CDU gains in partial repeat of election - traffic light loses. Voter turnout is limited.
Interim results indicate slight gains for the CDU and AfD. Traffic light parties SPD, Greens and FDP are losing some ground compared to 2021. Election marks the start of an important election year in Germany. European elections take place on June 9th, followed by state elections in Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg in September. The proportion of those entitled to repeat voting out of all eligible voters nationwide is only 0.9 percent.
