The planned regulations were "completely out of touch with reality," was the prompt criticism from the business side. Chancellor Olaf Scholz is now stressing that the government will ensure that prices for citizens do not rise immeasurably. "We as a country are better off not only because of the climate, but also because of prices, if we rely on the various possibilities to do things differently," he says.
