Charente-Maritime: a postman throws 400 letters into a bush because it was “raining” and “cold”. The abandoned mail was finally discovered on March 18 by a walker.
The identified postman had been employed on a fixed-term contract at the Rochefort post office since December 2023. He abandoned the mail during a tour between March 7 and 9 and was placed in police custody. He said: “It was raining, it was cold and I didn’t know the tour”
