Prosecutor Tarek William Saab affirms that he will proceed to locate and arrest those suspected of killing the Chavista opponent under pressure from the Chilean authorities. Saab, however, did not make reference to the political motivations that the Chilean Prosecutor's Office indicates could exist in this case.

Two suspects of participating in the kidnapping of the Venezuelan dissident were identified as Maikel Villegas and Walter Rodríguez and according to their investigations they had escaped to Venezuela. Two of the five people about whom they have requested information and criminal records are Ojeda himself and Captain Anyelo Heredia, detained by the Venezuelan intelligence services last December. In September of last year, the authorities took over the Tocorón Prison that served as the Aragua Train operations center, but the group's leaders and main operators were not captured. “Venezuela is not collaborating with the countries of the south, because it does do so with the United States,” claimed the Minister of Communication of Venezuela, Freddy Ñáñez.
