About thirty children in the fifth and sixth grades of the dual language school My School in Civitanova Marche (Macerata) spoke for about an hour and a half today via videoconference with a group of their peers from the NewTalent Academy school in Beijing. An exceptional event, the organizers underline, both for the availability of the Chinese government and for the very young age of the students.

This is the second stage of a journey started in the summer of 2023, when China selected four schools across Italy from among those interested. The 'My School' programme, founded in 2016 for pupils aged 3 to 14, has a strong Italian imprint (Latin is also studied in the sixth grade), but with a great openness to the world: Italian roots with international wings. "We let the kids talk, they talked about their pastimes and games, their favorite dishes (pizza was talked about), the sports they play. Together they sang 'We are the world'. Finally they did a little job with scissors, red tissue paper and a white sheet of paper"
