The Châteaudun Gendarmerie has a room dedicated to children victims of physical or sexual violence. Named Mélanie, these rooms are a tribute to a little girl who was the first in France to benefit from an audition in Reunion.

A camera is fixed in a corner at the entrance to the small room. On the other side of the hearing space is an office equipped with a video surveillance system. These recordings are then used as part of the investigation and legal proceedings.
