China supports Palestine "to become a full member of the United Nations" Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this during a joint press conference with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi held in Jakarta, on the day of the vote. The U.S. is expected to abstain from the vote, saying that it does not recognize Palestine's right to self-determination. The United States, however, will vote in favor of Palestine's bid to become a member.
