[HIGHLIGHTS] China to build station that could spy on U.S. from Cuba

Beijing has built listening posts elsewhere and has a military presence in Cuba. A listening station could give China a foothold about 160 kilometers off the coast of Florida.

The facility could be used to intercept electronic signals from nearby U.S. military and commercial facilities. "We are deeply troubled by reports that Havana and Beijing are working together to attack the United States," Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., says. "The United States must respond to China's continued and brazen attacks on our nation's security," Rubio says.
