Princess Madeleine's husband Chris O'Neill does not want to celebrate his 50th birthday in his wife's homeland. King Carl Gustaf of Sweden wanted to give his son-in-law a party in Stockholm, but this plan seems to have met with little approval.
The family seems to feel at home in sunny Florida - especially O'Neil, who was born in London. The planned move to Stockholm failed in 2023, but the princess' return to Sweden is still planned for 2024. But her aunt Princess Birgitta (87) says she doesn't really know how the princess is doing because they don't see each other very often. It is not known whether the parade will take place before or after Chris O’Neill’s birthday. His brother- in-law had to cancel his party last year. Since Prince Daniel's 50th. birthday fell on the same day as King Carl. Gustaf’S 50th anniversary on the throne, only the Swedish monarch was allowed to celebrate in a big way.
