City buys demolished house for 125,000 euros - it is only worth 10,000 euro. Homberg will buy the building at Hauptstrasse 35 in Wernswig, northern Hesse, for 12 times the assessed value.
The highest bidder bought the building for 27,500 euros - that wasn't the city. If the building were torn down, the bottleneck in front of the complex could be defused. This would increase road safety for pedestrians, wheelchair users and parents with strollers.
