Two decrees have been announced to stem sex tourism in the Colombian city of Medellín. These two decrees provide in particular for “ the suspension of the demand or request for sexual services ” in the heart of the city, around four public parks, including the ultra-tourist one of El Poblado.
Prostitutes themselves will not be targeted “ since they find themselves in particularly vulnerable conditions as victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation,” says the mayor.
