Colombians still believe in peace but less and less in reconciliation every year. In theory, dialogues with armed groups are supported, but there is no trust in the ELN or support for negotiations with criminal gangs.
Every year the number of people who believe in forgiveness to reconcile society decreases. The Truth Commission, which completed its major report on the war in 2022, and the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) court have contributed to these purposes. But despite these efforts, optimism for reconciliation did not increase.
