Concern for sick King Harald: Crown Prince Haakon has to take over. The regent is on sick leave due to a respiratory infection.
In 2003, the palace announced that King HarALD had bladder cancer, and in 2005 and 2020 he had to undergo heart valve operations. The Norwegian regent will probably not consider resigning despite renewed illness. He recently made clear comments about a possible abdication. The fact that he knows his tasks with Haak on and Mette-Marit are in the best of hands will probably help his recovery.
