February 13th is International Condom Day. The initiative was started by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation in 2009.

The latex to make a condom comes from a tree called Hevea brasiliensis, also known as “rubber tree’sbane” The latex is extracted from the trunk of the tree and used to make the condom.
