Congress sinks health reform and hands Petro his worst political defeat. The majority of senators in the Seventh Committee voted to shelve the executive's most important bill.
The decision of the parliamentarians comes after the Government intervened in the EPS Sanitas and the Nueva EPS. The fall of this reform is the harshest political defeat that Petro has suffered so far during his government. The reform process also broke the legislative coalition that Petro had achieved in the first half of the Government, when he was able to approve the tax reform and the development plan.
