Conmebol implements the change that soccer fans requested: the referees will explain their decisions live after checking the VAR. It will be used for the first time in the region in the rematch of the Recopa Sudamericana between Fluminense and Liga de Quito, in Rio de Janeiro.
The first tournament in which this system was used was the 2022 Club World Cup, held in February 2023. It was also used in the Women's World Cup in New Zealand and Australia (July 20-August 20)
