The old main post office in Bad Tölz has been demolished. Monument protectors are “irritated” by the actions of the authorities and investor Kai Worbs.
The house, which was inaugurated in 1929, is an “important testament to the Bavarian Postal Building School” The architect was the first female government architect in Bavaria, Hanna Löv, who was also responsible for the amplifier office in Kochel, which also fell victim to the wrecking ball.. The post office has not – until now – been listed as a historical monument. The owner, Aureus Oberland GmbH, with managing director Kai Maximilian Worbs, anticipated this meeting by demolishing it. The State Office for Monument Preservation had decades to place the building, which had been rebuilt several times on the inside, under monument protection and did not do so, Worbs says.. Mayor Ingo Mehner wanted a conversation to primarily look forward in the development of the site, but that hasn't happened.
