Josef Wilhelm, 88, received a call from a man claiming to work for the BRK district association in Starnberg. The caller asked if Josef Wilhelm was at home at the specified time.

Josef's daughter Inge Wilhelm reported the call to the police and the Starnberger Merkur. The family has changed and reorganized a few things in order to better protect their father from fraudsters. The BRK is on alert for possible fraud involving the good name of the Red Cross in Krailling, in the state of Hadorf, where fraudsters posed as BRK employees in March. The alleged information calls were also not from the Red Red Cross, says the district association's spokeswoman, Karin Windorfer. The Red Cross is always grateful for relevant information so that trust is not lost and citizens are not harmed as a result of the scam, she says.. Luckily, the mysterious call to her 88-year-old father had no consequences. And yet Inge Kaiser uses it as an opportunity to raise awareness among senior citizens.
