Cummins, the diesel engine giant based in Columbus, Indiana, has announced that it will soon launch the innovative X15 Helm series multi-fuel engine. The new Helm X15 offers significant improvements in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and operating efficiency.

The engine will comply with US EPA and CARB 2027 aligned regulations. of heavy vehicles for road transport, Cummins said in a statement.  The new X15 is capable of running up to 100% renewable biodiesel (up to 20%) and low carbon blends, the company said.  Cummins was one of the first engine manufacturers to adopt renewable fuels that reduce CO2 emissions and diesel fuel consumption with the advantage of being readily available in today's fueling infrastructure, it added. The new engine will be available in the U.S. and Canada by the end of the year, the engine company said in the statement. It is not yet clear if Cummins will launch the engine in the UK or Europe.
