Dangerous goods squad from the Memmingen motorway police: Several environmental offenders were discovered on the A96 during checks. Officials registered intentionally manipulated exhaust systems on three trucks.
In all three cases, the exhaust aftertreatment was not functional due to defects. The environment was polluted with harmful exhaust gases more than twenty times over. The inspectors initiated proceedings against all three companies for violations of the Federal Immission Control Act and withheld four-digit security deposits in each case. They only allow the vehicles to continue driving after the repairs have been carried out.
