“Soul Strong’ project was developed for the Freising district to promote mental health in schools. The project is financially supported by the Techniker Krankenkasse.

The first training course for multipliers recently took place in the premises of the Gute Änger secondary school. 20 teachers, youth social workers at the school (JaS), school social educators and other specialists took part. The trained “multinationals” were provided with comprehensive theoretical, operational and methodological knowledge for working with children and young people in the area of school and youth work. “Young people should learn that ups and downs are normal in life and what you can do to find your way back to mental balance,” says Tobias Grießer, spokesman for the district office. The classes learn about various relaxation techniques and experience how self-esteem is strengthened in order to be better prepared for everyday challenges. A parents’ evening on the topic can also be offered.
