The Rennes public prosecutor's office requested the referral to the criminal court of four police officers for involuntary homicide. Allan Lambin, 19, died in a cell at the Saint-Malo police station (Ille-et-Vilaine) where he had been placed in police custody a few hours earlier.

The autopsy revealed hemorrhage in the thorax and death by asphyxiation, according to the family's lawyer, Me Hélène Laudic-Baron, specifying that the toxicological report reported 0.81 g of alcohol per liter of blood.
