Vasily Dubkov accompanied the mother of the Russian opponent in her fight for the authorities to hand over his body. Dubkov said he would not comment on the reason for his detention, but that it was an obstruction of his work as a lawyer.

With Dubkov's help, Navalny's mother Lyudmila managed to secure the release of her son's body last Saturday, eight days after his sudden death in an Arctic penal colony. Navalny, 47, was serving a sentence of more than 30 years for fraud and extremism.
