Frédéric Mitterrand, former Minister of Culture, has died at the age of 76. He had been battling cancer for more than a year, an illness which he had spoken about publicly.

He was born the year when his uncle François became a minister for the first time. He lived in a family and in a France forced and then forged by his uncle. In Michèle Morgan's bed, he keeps the burning memory of a filming in which he participated at age of 12.
