Death of Namibian President Hage Geingob, anti-apartheid activist. He died at the age of 82, in hospital where he was being treated for cancer.

Last month, the presidency announced that a routine medical check-up had revealed the presence of “cancer cells” in the head of state. He had already suffered health problems, including before coming to power, in 2013, he had brain surgery and last year he had an aortic operation in South Africa.
