Defeat for Erdogan and nationalists in elections in Turkey. In 2019, the MHP received 731 percent nationwide and Iyi Parti 709 percent.
The MHP is currently at 445 percent and the Parti Iyi is at 3.45 percent. Pensioners in particular could have tipped the scales in the local elections. The dominant theme in the run-up to the local election in Turkey was increasing poverty in the country. The election result that gives the impression that Erdogan can be defeated could strain Erdogan's coalition.
