It is the first time that Iran has fired on Israel from its territory. With the help of US air defense, most of the flying objects were already intercepted outside Israeli airspace. There is now great concern that the conflict will escalate further. “We are, frankly, on the edge of a dangerous abyss,” said the director of the US think tank Carnegie Middle East Center.
