Saxony-Anhalt has been discussing how to handle evidence in the evidence chambers. The Left, the Greens and the AfD are angry about how the problems are being handled.
The state parliament can set up a committee of inquiry at the request of at least a quarter of its members. For this to happen, either the Greens or the Left would have to vote together with theAfD. It was also recently announced that around 13,000 euros had disappeared from the evidence chamber in the Salzlandkreis police station in the spring of 2023.. The Ministry of the Interior has announced a review of the processes in evidence management. A project group is to develop uniform rules for the handling and storage of evidence. Collaboration with the justice sector should also be examined. The ultimate goal is a uniform set of rules for state police.
